PN recently announced their call for entries for their Photo Contest: The Wonders of Water, III. PN invites photographers from beginners to advanced to submit their photos of the ever-changing aspects of water. The Society of Illustrators honors the works of Maurice Sendak with their latest exhibition, Maurice Sendak- A Celebration of the Artist and His Work to open today, June 11th, 2013 at their 128 East 63rd Street, New York City location. The exhibition features over 200 original works by Sendak that have previously never been exhibited. The exhibition was curated by Justin G. Schiller and Dennis M.V. David. Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord, NH will feature the poets, Barbara Crane and Charles Fort on June 19th, 2013. An open mic will follow, and newcomers are encouraged to stop by early, to sign up for a spot on the open mic roster. This event begins at 7pm and is free and open to the public. Barry McGee is a San Francisco artist whose work will be featured at the ICA through September 2, 2013. McGee’s collection of work reflects his beginnings as a graffiti artist, “Twist,” and his attention to art and its relation to popular culture.
